Brad Smeele

In this interview, we sit down with Brad Smeele, a former professional wakeboarder, who shares his inspiring journey of resilience and personal growth after a life-changing spinal cord injury. At the age of 27, Brad’s world was turned upside down when he broke his neck, resulting in quadriplegia and the loss of all movement from the shoulders down.
Before the accident, Brad had built his entire career around his physical abilities, placing immense value on what he could do with his body. Losing his mobility made him feel like he had lost a part of himself, causing him to question his identity and purpose. Brad’s journey towards healing was not without its challenges. Throughout this interview, Brad emphasizes the importance of vulnerability and having hope. He shares how being open about his struggles allows others to relate and understand that everyone faces hardships in life. Brad’s story serves as a reminder that it is possible to find happiness and peace, even in the face of immense challenges.
